To guarantee quality of products based on IGRS standard, and make IGRS products of different brands interconnect with each other, IGRS and China Electronics Standardization Institute set up IGRS Standard Testing Joint Lab. At the unveiling ceremony on May 24, 2008, Lenovo and TCL, etc products which are first batch to pass testing are awarded IGRD standard product authentication certificate.
IGRS Standard Testing Joint Lab makes use of IGRS standard conformation testing system to conduct conformation testing for products developed based on IGRS standard. At beginning of establishment of IGRS standard work team, idea to set up IGRS Standard Testing Joint Lab is put into practice. After the country announced IGRS standard in 2005, IGRS standard work team joins hands with China Electronics Standardization Institute to develop IGRS standard conformation testing system. The system gains acceptance of original Ministry of Information Industry, Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China, experts of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). Accreditation results show that the testing system fills in gaps in intelligent interconnection standard conformation testing technology of domestic information equipments. Moreover, the system is an important method and technological guarantee to implement the standard and industrialization.
“Does establishment of IGRS Standard Testing Joint Lab mean that a 4C product market access system is needed?” asked by media. “IGRS standard is applied in many products of different manufacturers. Establishment of the Lab is to improve quality and products and guarantee interconnection stability and quality of products based on IGRS standard through testing. Ultimate aim is to make consumers enjoy the comfortable, convenient and high-quality digital home life that IGRS standard brings, and protect consumers’ rights and interests. There must be places not qualify for standard in products without testing, and they may not be interconnected with other products,” explained by person who’s responsible for this.
IGRS guides the new concept of digital life consumption. Products that are closely to people’s digital life consumption, like PC, laptop, cell phone, PDA, TV, digital camera, and projector, etc are within scope of testing conducted by IGRS Standard Testing Joint Lab. Establishment of the Lab will make IGRS standard industrialization progresses more steadily and powerfully. Moreover, people’s digital life will become abundant and colorful.
IGRS background
IGRS standard work team, approved by Ministry of Information Industry, technology department，is imitated and established by five domestic backbone enterprises in electronic information in Jule 17, 2003, such as Lenovo, TCL, KONKA, Hisense, Great Wall, etc. The core task is to make and promote 3C (computer, communication and consumption products)-convergence standard of our proprietary intellectual property rights. IGRS standard overcame difficulties, like drive, interface, and network configuration incompatibility, and fulfilled automatic identification, wireless interconnection among 3C products, such as computer, TV, projector, digital camera, and cell phone, etc.
In April 2005, under support of Zhongguancun Management Committee, to build health standardization operation mechanism, IGRS Information Industry Association was established. IGRS Industry Alliance, which sets foot in Zhongguancunm, covering 3C-convergence industry alliance of the country and even world, is under control of IGRS Information Industry Association. Comprehensive representativeness and huge potential are laid in alliance. With development of IGRS Industry Alliance, there are one hundred and nine members, covering important enterprises of customers and suppliers in information and home appliance industry chain. Industry cluster of producing, studying and researching are shaped.
With continuous excellent enterprises’ joining, like CHANGHONG, Skyworth and Zhonghewei, etc, on December 18, 2005, entity company of IGRS standard, IGRS was established officially.
