IGRS standard is officially accepted as internationa standard

Currently, news from Geneva ISO/IEC Central Secretariat Office that IGRS standard proposal submited by IGRS standard work team passed the final round of voting of ISO-IEC, and the whole process of ISO is finished. The standard is passed overwhelmingly with 96% support rate, and is officially accepted as international standard. It became the first ISO international standard from China, and fiils the gap in IT industry of our ountry. Thus, our enterprises have right to speak in global 3C-convergence technology field. 

3C （Computer, consumption products and communication）product is main force of domestic electronic information product. With development of digital and IT, popularization of computer and internert, 3C product and convergence service become a common trend of global electronic and information industry. Among technologies of domestic IT field, were under complete control of Amrica of European countrises in the past, and developing countries take a following position. Owing to lack of a uniform industry standard, our country pays high patent fee every year. It seriously restricts development and international competitiveness increse of IT industry. IGRS standard development will advance development of traditional 3C industry technology, and enhance domestic enterprises’ competitiveness.     

After many years’ endeavor of IGRS standard work team, IGRS standard proposal submited by IGRS standard work team, is set up as a project by ISO/IEO in July 2006, and was passed in CD and FCD phases in March and November 2007. It’s reported in this round of voting, America, England, France, Germany, Japan and Korea, that is advanced in IT industry took a attitude of complete support and openess. IGRS standard was passed overwhelmingly with 96% support rate. It was offcially accepted as international standard, symbolling Chinese standard has taken an important position in international standard framework.        

IGRS standard work team, approved by Ministry of Information Industry, initated by five domestic backbone enterprises in electronic information in 2003, such as Lenovo, TCL, KONKA, Hisense, Great Wall, etc., is a standard orgnization and indusry alliance. The core task is to make and promote in 3C -convergence, which is IGRS standard. Currently, IGRS industry is relatively perfect in our country, and number of IGRS association members broke hundred and reached one hundred and fifteen. Up to end of 2007, IGRS products of more than twenty styles, such as IGRS PC, laptop, TV, cell phone, projector, etc produced based on IGRS standard have entered into market. Sales volume broke five million. This symbols IGRS standard has come into industrilization enforcement phase. It not only brings huge business interests for our enterprises, but also motivates our urban and rural citizens to go further in digital home development.
