On November 25, 2008, IGRS standard work team held 2nd Staff Work Meeting in Beijing. At the meeting, IGRS satndard making, promotion, internationalization and industry are disscussed and yearly work conclusion and plan for the furure are conducted. Relevant leaders from Standardization Administration of the People’s Repubblic of China,China Electronics Standardization Institute, and representatilves of IGRS members, total one hundred people attended the meeting.

The meeting went through three phases of overall progress report, market subject meeting and technology subject. Firstly, SUN Yuning, work team leader reported on 2008 yearly work conclusion and 2009 yearly work plan from five aspects, standard making, technology development, membership service, new products and joint marketing, propaganda and promotion in subject of “New times, New Opportunity, New Reform”. The report was recognized at the meeting. New members, Panasonic, Samsung, Fujian Normal University, and Cortina Systems delivered speech at the meeting.
At the meeting, IGRS market advantage, and problems were ananlized from aspects of alliance resourses, developing resourses, international situation, policy environment and market trend. Suggestion was made on development, like making standard access system, etc. Development of 2008 was concluded, and IGRS market development model was confirmed, such as joining Lenovo and Skyworth to conduct marketing, joining SUNING, CRI and Tencent to conduct propaganda and promotion of IGRS concept and technology products. In phase of IGRS products and promotion model, Lenovo, Panasonic, Xinhuitong delivered speech respectively to introduce P100 high-definition player, HD-PLC and internet player based on IGRS standard. Meanwhile, promotion model of IGRS products was disscussed, and memebers’ attention and great interest arouse.
Technology subject includes four contents, technology progree report, introduction of new thechnology team, results report, introduction of domestic and overseas standard progress and introduction of digital home new technology of 2008. At the meeting, progress of IGRS international standard, national standard and industry progress were introduced. IGRS standard technology characteristics were analized through introduction of standard situation in hot fields, communication with AVS alliance. At the meeting, work progress report was made by part of technology team, Ipv6, and QoS. Convenor of each technology team reviewed work progress of every part, and reported work plan of next phase. In addition, in phase of introducing new technology in digital home, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, and Institute of Computing Technology Chinese Acedemy of Science introduced cutting-edge technology and developing trend in backgound of digital home.
After one day’s discussion, representatives made detailed discussion on work progress of IGRS work team in 2008 and work plan ifn 2009. This laid a good foundation for later work enforcement.
