IGRS Standard Seized Industry Development Opportunity and Won Right to Speak in the World

Reviewing 2008, it’s a year of breakthrough in domestic standard making and independent innovation. China IGRS international proposal passed ISO/IECJTC1 FCD, with high support rate of 96&. This October, one more international standard proposal of China IGRS, IGRS Base Agreement Standard, passed officially ISO/IEC JTC1 SC25 FCD voting, and became FDIS. It symbols China IGRS standard system was fully accepted by ISO/IEC, and laid important foundation for China IGRS internationalization.
China IGRS create a precedent in domestic 3C (computer, communication and consumption products) industry technology cooperation. It motivates efficiently development of internet digital content, network operation and new-style service industry in next generation, enhance our enterprises’ competitiveness in international market, break bounds among traditional 3C products, and lay a technological foundation for 3C-convergence technology.

Progress made in international cooperation
China IGRS standard work team is China international standard organization, and establishes good relationship with more international organization alliances. On behalf of China, IGRS and Japan ECHONET, and Korea HNF set up AHNC to lay a foundation for uniform home network standard in Asian areas.
This December, IGRS standard work team, Japan ECHONET and Korea Home Network Forum held in Beijing AHNC Beijing meeting. Representatives of three countries gave 2007 yearly report and notification on work progress and plan in every aspect of AHNC. At the meeting, China, Japan and Korea gave a full introduction for every country’s development situation from angles of standard technology, market development and policy background. Decision was made at the meeting that in 2009, the three organizations will hold digital home network technology and paper release activity and products show.
Under framework of AHNC, through cooperation among organizations, interoperation and application development of three standards will be speeded up, making it be in a favorable position in future global, market competition. Moreover, China IGRS standard well be promoted to the world through cooperation with global technology standard organization.
IGRS international standard propels industrialization progress.
Interconnection and resources convergence among 3C electronics products has become reality. After China IGRS became the first international standard in 3C-convergence, on October 12, the first big-scale joint marketing activity throughout industry was launched. Core members, Lenovo and Skyworth released new products, computers and TV based on IGRS standard wireless interconnection, and make joint promotion to motivate IGRS industrialization.
With participating of major home appliance, IGRS standard has extended from brown goods to major appliance. Through six years’ development, IGRS, appliance manufacturers, IGRS association jointly advance standard making to create a precedent in domestic 3C industry technology cooperation. It’s very important innovation model in China information chain development process.
In order to become an international standard, IGRS currently needs mass industrialization promotion. From 2003 when IGRS standard was made to now, preliminary progress in industrialization has been made. Currently there are IGRS products of more than twenty styles entering market, such as OC, laptop, TV, cell phone, projector, etc, covering 84.3% of domestic TV market, 50% of major appliances market, 43% of computer market and 41% of cell phone market. Sales volume is nearly seven million.
In the meanwhile of releasing products, IGRS commits itself to construction of IGRS community. This year in Qingdao, Beijing IGRS began to build IGRS community pilot, making more and more consumers experience the convenient service IGRS technology standard provides for us through experiential application.
