The wish to wirelessly share your favorite movie and photos at anytime and anywhere through any home appliance, cell phone or computer may come true in several years. The key point is international standard, IGRS. Recently, Shenzhen first national engineering lab, National Engineering for IGRS was officially located. The Lab will set up research and development and innovation base in 3C (computer, consumption electronics and communication)-convergence field, taking core technology of proprietary intellectual property rights and internationally leading IGRS standard as core.
In unveiling ceremony of IGRS National Engineering Lab on July 29, WANG Rong, member of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Shenzhen City Party Vice Secretary, acting Mayor joked “people who attended the unveiling ceremony are not only leaders of electronics information industry, but also old hands” Indeed, although ceremony is simple, guests are extremely important, including XU Qin, member of the Standing Committee of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Executive Vice Mayor, ZHAO Bo, vice section director of Electronics Information Section, Ministry of Industry and Information, and big shot in China electronics and information industry, including YANG Yuanqing, CEO of Lenovo, LI Dongsheng, president of TCL, HOU Songrong, chairman of KONKA, ZHANG Xuebin, chairman of Skyworth, DU Heping, chairman of Great Wall, HUANG Bei, chairman of Zhonghewei Software, HE Xingui, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, SUN Yuning, president of IGRS and leaders of Hisense and CHAGNHONG, etc. These important persons get together in Shenzhen and focus on IGRS National Engineering Lab.
To motivate condensation and development of 3C-convergence chain, enhance domestic enterprise independent innovation capacity, grasp developing opportunity and seize industry height, in February 2009, National Development and Reform Commission officially approved to construct first domestic National Engineering for IGRS, led by Shenzhen IGRS Company, constructed by Lenovo, TCL, Great Wall, CHANGHONG, Skyworth, Hisense, KONKA, Zhonghewei, participated by Beijing University, Institute of Computing Technology Chinese Academy of Science, and Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science.
In coming three years, total investment in the Lab will reach one hundred million, and top level domestic leading IGRS public service platform will be set up.
One the one hand, the Lab will construct domestic leading and international top level research and developing environment, unceasingly improve and extend IGRS standard system, and break basic common technology, taking IGRS international standard as core and relying on leading backbone enterprise in the industry. On the other hand, the Lab will construct public technology support platform including standard, technology, and plan and testing, providing all-round service for shareholders, association manufacturers and even industry enterprises.
YANG Yuanqing, representative of unit that construct the Lab, CEO of Lenovo said “IGRS successfully explores big enterprise joint innovation model and mechanism. Alliance is not for dividing, but for making big. The reason why IGRS was paid attention to by the country and recognized by enterprises is that it is adapt to current information industry trend, digital home, wireless internet and cloud computing, and embodies influence of main part of enterprises research and developing organization in national innovation.
IGRS technology will lead future digital home era
“In future digital home era, PC, TV, Baffle box, Refrigerator, air-conditioner, DV, and DC will be connected together. If China market is guided by foreign standard, cost needed may be astronomical figure” LI Dongsheng thought China had missed the first reform in electronics information technology, but in future digital home era, China enterprises must take a position.
SUN Yuning, president of IGRS Engineering Center, general manager of Shenzhen IGRS Company and chief of IGRS National Engineering Lab said currently there were ten million labeling on IGRS products, among which new added labeling of this year will exceed three million. IGRS chip design has been finished and mass production began. In coming three years, the Lab will create global leading innovation base in 3C-convergence industry, through constructing virtual transboundary digital technology platform in crossing information technology, consumption electronic and communication field.
Accelerate industrialization
Establishment of the Lab will promote IGRS industrialization. IGRS standard is to achieve seamless interconnection among different products and provide more convenient service for consumers. As for unit that joins IGRS, their products cover home appliance and information products Chinese citizens use every day.
Currently, IGRS has covered 42% of domestic computer market share, 84% of TV, 46 of cell phone and 50% of major appliance. SUN Yuning, president of IGRS introduced since standard was made in 2003 up to now, IGRS has made preliminary progress in industrialization. IGRS projector, TV, intelligent media terminals and wireless memory server have entered the market or will enter the market in second half of year. Two billion two hundred and eighty million Yuan has been created directly. It is predicted that radiation drive yearly value will exceed one billion. In near future, IGRS sign will enter thousands of households.
The most representative industry alliance
IGRS industry alliance is standard organization and industry alliance initiated and set up by big domestic enterprises, and has become the most influential industry organization on domestic 3C field, and gain breakthrough results in standard making and promotion.
Within several years, IGRS takes a unique road of industry alliance. In standard making, IGRS standard has developed into a relatively complete and mature 3C-convergence standard system. It is not only the first industry standard and national standard in 3C industry, but also the first international standard. In the future, one who has standard may have initiative in future industry development.
