IGRS creates international standard and shows China power

On September 7, 2009, held by Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China, China Electronics Standardization Institute and IGRS, 2009 ISO/IEC JTC1 SC25 meetings will be held in Beijing. Holding the meeting in Beijing symbols China’s international position in international standard field and winning right to speak.

International Organization for Standardization, ISO as short is a global non-profit organization, and an important organization in international standard field. The main task is to advance standardization in the world, helpful for dialog and cooperation between products and service internationally. SC25 is technology committee branch in interconnection field among IT equipments and is highlights that global IT field. SC25 takes an important role in ISO/IEC. More than one hundred experts’ representatives from more than twenty countries, China, America, England, France, Korea and Japan, etc attended the meeting. Technology experts of China Electronics Standardization Institute and several experts in standard of IGRS association would attend the meeting on behalf of China. Subject of the meeting is to discuss standardization work in interconnection field among IT equipments. IGRS will promote progress of several standard proposals at the meeting.    

Since IGRS joined ISO/IEC, China IGRS standard system v1.0 has been fully accepted by ISO/IEC. Great progress of six proposals has been advance. Except for joining international standard making, IGRS actively commits itself to become leading force in China international standardization. From participant in international standard field to active leader in international standard, IGRS’s outstanding contribution in international standardization makes China gain important breakthrough and jump again and again in international standard field. 

Holding SC25 successfully in China will solidify international status of IGRS and 3C (computer, consumption electronics, communication)-convergence field.  Information industry was controlled by developed countries of America and Europe, and developing countries are always in the position of following. Every year China pay high patent fees, making Chinese enterprises increase cost in production and processing. As a result, the cost is transferred to expenses of consumers. In the current globalization time manufacturing, information and service as mainstream, standardization plays an important role. It is foundation mass production and manufacturing, and important part to construct conformity enterprise strategy. IGRS standard will efficiently motivate development of our country’s 3C industry, making 3C terminals products of different manufacturers and brands interconnect, and making consumers choose their favorite products more conveniently and easily, and fulfilling consumers’ interest maxim.    

With development of digital and information technology, popularization of computers and internet, interconnection and service among 3C products are common trend in global electronic information industry development.
