Sino-Korean symposium on Digital Home Appliance was held in Seoul on August 25, 2010, initiated by IGRS Engineering Lab Ltd. and Korean Electronic Technologies institute (KETI). The successful completion of it marked the co-operation between Sino-Korea at the area of the standard of digital home appliance, technologies and industrialization is more internationalized and developed.

As an important part of the campaign, Chairman of IGRS Sun Yuning signed the memorandum of strategic cooperation with Dean of South Korean KETI Cui Pingluo, CEO of Zhonghewei Software Company, Wang Zhiwei and Representative Director of KAONMEDIA, Lin Hebian on impelling technological cooperation and development in the IT industry between Sino-Korea. The aim is to establish a close relationship between both sides to expedite broader collaboration and progress in IT industry with joint efforts.

At the meeting, the experts from major research institutions, organizations and enterprises had in-depth discussions over a range of topics on digital home industry. It was the first time for both sides to have seminar in this type in Korea, and it will be of positive significance to promote IGRS international influence and scope of cooperation.
During the session, the Chinese experts from the IGRS, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Technology Institute gave reports respectively on the digital home industry. As Chinese first international standard, IGRS 1.0 has solved interconnected problems between the LAN 3C devices. Currently, the IGRS is actively formulating the standard of device interconnected technologies in heterogeneous network (i.e., the Internet, TV network, telecommunications and other relevant network), meanwhile making efforts to develop standard agreement and applied technology with IGRS 2.0 at helm. According to the report, IGRS standard can effectively regulate and push the development of Chinese digital home industry, enable different brands of 3C devices to have access to interconnection and provide a range of innovative applications and services, ultimately, maximize benefits of each manufacturers and their consumers.
The meeting followed by the expertise, from South Korea KETI Home Networking or the Research Center of Information Home Appliances, the biggest telecom operators SKT and Green Strategic Committee of South Korea delivering theme speeches separately in respect of the Status and Prospects of Intelligent Household Industry, the Development of Trends About Intelligent TV Technology, the Service of Home Networking and the Future Green Household. A detailed analysis on the latest breakthroughs and progress of Korean digital home industry, present development status and issues of Korean digital home industry were included in these reports.

IGRS has 144 memberships covered business chain of various industries, including domestic and international major brand of TVs, mobile phones, laptops, home appliances, terminal producers of white appliance and suppliers of chips, contents, operation, service and software since the establishment of the IGRS in 2003. IGRS is an opened organization and maintains a good relationship with organizations of international standard. IGRS international standard has been published on ISO/IEC in February.
KETI, as a research institution directly under Korean Ministry of Industry has been committed to the technological innovation of electronic and information industry. In order to improve the strengths of industry, ETI draw up strategies for the enterprises and carried out programs like Research and Development, provide high technology and instructions for the small and medium-sized enterprises.
KETI and IGRS start relation in 2007 have extensive cooperation on setting standards, technical communication on many aspects within next three years. KETI joined IGRS on June 2009 as a membership for promotion of brand, became the first joined national research institutions in South Korea. Thereafter, KETI has been dedicated to the associations with IGRS and bring out fruitful achievements.

IGRS has been actively participated in various activities of international standardization. At present, IGRS has been established good relationship with AHNC, KETI, Samsung, LG, Philips, Panasonic and other related organizations, which consolidate the IGRS international standard strategic alliance. By cooperating with KETI within more than three years, IGRS formed communication platform of the trinity of standard, technology and market,enhanced interactive contact concerning standard and digital home industry between Sino-Korea and paved the way to promote common development of digital home industry worldwide.

The China digital home application symposium will further expand the cooperation and communication between two countries in the international standards of digital home, technical application and marketing, the opportunity will be taken to deepen the cooperation between related organizations and enterprises, to expand the international influence of Chinese digital home industry and international scope of cooperation.
